Learning objectives
At the end of this course, participants will be able to :
- Explain the basic concepts and principles of an occupational health and safety management system (OHSMS) in accordance with ISO 45001.
- Interpreting the requirements of ISO 45001 for an OHSMS from an auditor’s point of view
- Initiate and plan the implementation of an SMSST in accordance with ISO 45001, using PECB’s IMS2 methodology and other best practices.
- Support an organization in the operation, maintenance and continuous improvement of an SMSST in compliance with ISO 45001.
- Preparing an organization for a third-party certification audit
Pedagogical approach
This training is participant-centered and offers the following elements:
- Theories, approaches and best practices used in SMSST implementation
- Illustrative examples during the four-day course
- Training sessions illustrated by practical examples based on a case study involving role-playing and discussion
- Interaction between participants through questions and suggestions
- Questionnaires with independent questions (after each section) and scenario-based questionnaires (at the end of each day), designed to prepare participants for the certification exam.
